Due to public health concerns, the city of Malmo, Sweden and other municipalities, want to be able to access public outdoor spaces in real-time and get accurate information on pedestrian traffic patterns, in order to be able to better manage overcrowding and avert possible Covid-19 transmission hotspots.
Ximantis along with Lund University, the Swedish national space agency and various municipalities has undertaken this project that will be able to facilitate ML decision making tools to government officials. At the same time these tools will expand current company abilities interpreting 3-D reality from 2-D images for safer navigation.
